Phew... this was one of the most complicated pages by now.
But I have a little buffer and can now move on to the next page.

Hohoo, mecha. Wasn't expecting that kinda technology in Katran.

Though thinking aback to the Puppetstalkers those things were pretty high-tech. These walker things are still rad-looking, though.

@Seven Rain: Those guys are always experimenting and inventing stuff. Only in aeronautic are they somehow behind, as you can see.
They are a good mix of Steampunk and Medievalpunk.

I honestly thought you just skipped that scene.
I distinctly remember it beeing set at an earlier point in the original comic.

Reply JoKeR, February 18th, 2018, 2:50 pm

@Chains: Yes it was set earlier ...but the pacing felt unfitting. That's why I decided to put it right after Nirrod's and Kie-Pur's first encounter.

Have you bought the original on a bookfair?

Got it from a local comicshop that puts out old products that didn't sell, for less money than is right sometimes. The first issue is even signed, imagine that!

Not sure when that was, but after the original run for sure.

I was surprised(peasantly so) when I recently stumbled over an ad that lead me here, and i'm eager to see the story continue and the world expand.

As for the pacing and general storytelling/character development, that certainly improved, though the fight against the Puppetstalker was, in my oppinion to drawn out. The original had more of a shock effect, which I feel is important to those things.

@Chains: I hadn't enough pages in that time so I had to decide what to cut away ...and because a close deadline I cancelled the whole fighting sequence with the Puppetstalker.
But yes, the fighting scene now is maybe a little bit too long.

But at least it's not "One-Piece-fighting-scenes" long ...hahaha

It's not even the fighting as such, but the fact there are, what, five to ten pages between Sogre striking the Puppetstalker down and the thing exploding, where in the original that happens on the very next page!

That just gives the scene more urgency, and makes more sense if we look at the Puppetstalkers as weapons.

Reply JoKeR, February 18th, 2018, 4:06 pm

@Chains: You are right there are 7 pages until it explode.
Interesting, I had the feeling that this sequence would feel much faster. Where every second counts for Sogre. (especially because I did cut away some redundant panels)
I'll keep this in mind for further pages.

Even so you may have read the two issues be prepared to be surprised... hopefully (^__-)

I spend the years since finding these issues hoping there would be more for me to find somewhere.

Every surprise is greatly appreciated.

@Chains: btw. You mentioned an add that led you here. Was it on Smackjeeves?

Indeed it was, on a dead comic I can't stop checking, because HOPE DIES LAST!

(May, or may not, apply to your hope specifically, no guarantee is given.)
